Wattsey999
Hi All,I am new to the aquarium world, I have just purchased a new 6 x 2 x 2. That I am going to fill with cichlids. My question is, I have a 1250Canister and 2000lph internal, they came with the tank. Will they be ok to get a start with some fry? Or am I better off buying a 2700 now? ( witch will delay me and I'm super excited to get fish) Thanks guys
Buccal
You should be fine with all that,,, I wouldnt buy a whole new large one,,,, just by another smaller one to add on if needed. This way you can have a two week delay between cleaning all filters and avoid filter beneficial bacteria disruption. Donny Brasco
already sounds like heaps of flow for the size, i like the idea of having 2 smaller filter than 1 large one for a few reasons.1. being more surface area of filter media and 2. if you have a pump failure on one you still have some basic filtration going until you fix the other one.Ill be using 2 nautlous 800's on my new 5 ft once in finished with the background, just something to think about
