Help: hood covers and lighting for my 4ft aquaone tank

Just bought a aquaone 4ft fish tank , but didnt come with the hood covers and the light is broken

Anyone know where I can get replacement covers for this style of hood or a alternative,

lighting suggestion ?

Try you LFS they might have some old ones out the back collecting dust or keep an eye on Gumtree and eBay.

I think to try and get new parts you would be better off buying a new tank. Would be far better off getting a couple of hinges and a sheet of perspex and making a lid up yourself. As for lighting, ask a sparky mate to have a look at the light for you or someone competent. There isn't much too them at all.

I think from memory the hood for an Aquaone 620 with light and tubes is around $160 so depending on the old model (i.e 980 etc) you will be up for $210 according to this site http://petland.com.au/category175_1.htm.

What you could do is add a cannister filter and get a 4' light (I would look into LED but t8/t5 will work) and booyah you are in business.
