How to work out what wattage used

Found some LED strips on ebay and was wondering how can the wattage be determined from the following specs.

2 x 96 LED strips

Power input: 100 - 240V, 50-60Hz, 0.6A

Power output: 12.0VDC ---1.0A

Will this be sufficient to light up a standard 4fter ?

those specs appear to be the specs for the transformer/rectifier that powers the led. nothing to do with the light output.

these led lights consume very little power, and put out very little light.

but with 192 LED's it might be enough.

i still think a single 4ft fluro with electronic ballast would be more efficient.

For a standard 4ft you would need 4 or 5 120cm LED strips. I'd go 5. That would be a total of 20W. The light still may not be bright enough for a full on display, but if you are energy consious, you are lighting your tank for half the energy.

I think one fluoro tube is 36 to 40W.

I run 2 x 120cm strips per 4 ft but the light allows me to see the fish but is not display quality by any means. But I am not complaining at 8W per tank!

So, no 2x 96 LED strip won't light a 4ft tank.
