dory
hi all, i came home today and took a look in my tank and i saw about 25 lamprologus ocellatus "blue" fry outside the mothers shell. I was so excited i have been watching them all night.WHen they are big enough i will put them up for sale in the classifieds. Anyone got any tips on removing them from the aquarium into a smaller tank?? Thanks in advance for any info Cheers Dory
Colfish
hi Dory good onya, great little fish. but don't worry about removing them yet. give them a couple of weeks then move them to a tank about the same size they allready have cheers; Colin
Mazimbwe
If you have the parents in a tank on their own you will be suprised at the great parenting skills they have. I have seen the females do things like moving the shell-full-of-fry into a better position for the micro-worms to be eaten by their young...like where the water current carries them into, rather than past, the shell. You can always, depending on your decore, add a pile of rubble for the fry to move into when they leave the shell. Well done tho...great little fish. graceless
congratulations. they will be very special indeed. i think if there's nothing else in the tank, then they should be good. i'm green (wishing i was blue!! ) with envy. Grace
