Kazaf
I'd like to know what tools are good for cutting strips of foam for a fry saver. I'd like to cut them straight and perfect. I cut them with a blade and the edges arent straigh, with all bits sticking out.. Any suggestions?
Serial-Cichlid
I find you can get good cuts from a Stanley knife/blade if you don't apply too much pressure. Just ease into the cut. Make sure it's a new blade. This obviously works better for thinner sheets of foam. Otherwise you can run it through those hotwire foam cutters. Mazimbwe
I use a really thin, long knife blade that I heat up in the Gas-stove. It works perfectly. If you can get yourself a nice long straight-edge to use with it your cuts will be perfect. HTH
trofius
i use a big , really sharp, kitchen knife, nice slow strait cuts, almost lying th eknife along th efoam, so a very shallow angle. dont be in a rush to get to the bottom, you can go over the same area a few times as it is much easier, very neat finish. Bit Racer
I just use a hobby knife that can be bought from a hobby shop only because it's handy and I bought it to build plastic models.
mianos
I got this advcie from the guys at the foam place I go to. Get yourself an electric carving knife. I got one from Target at it's simply awsome for cutting foam. You can even cut large curves very well.
