dvs81n
I dont know if this is anything or not but it seems like my Frontosa's are pumping their gills hard. I checked my pH, Ammonia and Nitrite and they are all fine nothing out of the ordinary there. Anyone know whats happening or am I just paranoid? Barca888
If your water is as it should be perhaps you have some kind of disease. What is your temperature and how well stocked is it?
YeW
Is there much disturbance at the waters surface? Sometimes an "oily" layer builds up and reduces oxygen dissolving in the water. Add an air stone . HTH -
dvs81n
I found what had happened .... there wasnt enough distrubance of the surface water someone played around with my spray bar from my canister filter .... its all fix now and my frontosa's are back to normal now. scb
I had a similar problem this week. Fish were pumping there gills and hanging around the surface (which was noticably unusual) - It coincided with a blockage in the air pump - air was still going in but at a reduced rate - I fixed it and the fish went back to normal behaviour within an hour. Fish are happy and haelthy again now. baz
