DREMEN Posted May 19, 2004 Share Posted May 19, 2004 This may sound a little bit silly, but here goes: I am looking for aquarium decorations in the form of letters. I saw them on the movie "Deuce Bigalow" when he gives his g/f a fish tank and it has coral decorations which spell "K A T E" If I can't find them for sale, then I guess my next option would be to make them out of crushed coral. saudukar Posted May 20, 2004 Share Posted May 20, 2004 I dont know about you but I thought it was a hell funny gift as it was so lame that a hardcore fish hobbist would give her a tank with no filter and cheesy tank decorations. Later on in the movie you see pink kissers in it with no filter or heater. I could be really pedantic and pick around 20 problems with the advice and facts that Deuce gave in the movie but I wont. You can buy the letters premade letters in ceramic from some pet stores but they costs HEAPS. I would just get some square and rectangular bits of slate and silicone them together to form letters. Then silicone platic planets into the crevices of the slate to make it look cool. I reckon they made the chicks name KATE in the movie because then they didnt have to stick coral together in a circular fashion to preduce a C,O,B,P,R. Callatya Posted May 21, 2004 Share Posted May 21, 2004 Ohh!~ thats good! strips of acrylic (Cains glass in Peachtree Ave does cheap cutting) and roll in silicone and then in crushed coral OR some of that pastel rock that comes in jars... i cant recall the brand. You realise it is a comedy, and not a factual "how to care for your pet fish" DVD right? DO you think maybe, just maybe, they deliberately threw in the dodgy advice, to raise a smile in those who actually knew what was going on. And geeze, in that Finding Nemo movie, the dentist had terrible tankmate's selected, but they were all pal's, so it worked for him right... I know where you're coming from Clayton...but..it was all in good fun. merjo PS....Back on topic.....have you tried modelling clay that you can make the letters yourself, bake and seal???
