Tips on water condition

You are likely to get a range of answers on this one.

Personally I have always only worried about carbonate Hardness. This is what keeps Ph stable. If you notice a week or so after doing water changes your Ph drops, then your Hardness is too low. This can be maintained using buffering products that can bought at any Local Fish Store. Stick to some of the more well known brands like Seachem, aquasonic or Aqua-pics, but only use if you need it.

Josh no wonder you are a moderator you are so smart. Lol. As Josh mentioned carbonate hardness is the only thing I worry about as well really. Canberra water generally comes out of the tap at a decent ph around 7.6-8.2 but soft water so the ph crashes. So I worry about adding salts over buffers. I have used a seachem and Aqua pics over the years but mainly use seachem when I can get hold of it cheaply.
