Link2Hell
Hi Bakesmy guess is they could have labelled as Greshakibut they shouldn't show any barringwhat did you buy them as ?
bakes
Hi,yes brought them as Greshaki ,were around 4cm,now adults, I've had Greshaki before and look different. As Malawi sand diver said,I thought they might actually be hongi,or some kind of zebra
myster619
The lighting makes it confusing. You have pictures without any lights?

malawi sand diver
Looks like he has a bit of orange/yellow on the head, or is it just the light?
bakes
Here's another pic of him
malawi sand diver
Looks to be Labidochromis Hongi. The reason is that greshakei don't have the orange/yellow forehead. Greshakei have clear/blue pectoral fins whereas your one has yellow pectorals. Also the lines around the face are more prominent in the Hongi. Andrew
Hi all,This fish is definitely predominantly L. sp. "Hongi", however, the mouth shape, dentition and body shape are a bit dubious. There are also too many egg spots for it to be a pure Hongi.L. sp. "Hongi" has a narrow, prominent mouth with clearly obvious grazing teeth. It is also longer in the body, as opposed to this fish, which is taller and less cylindrical. Hongi should have 3-5 egg spots, as well as a black margin in the anal fin, which the pictured fish lacks. The appearance of the adult fish would be consistent (in my opinion only) with L. sp. "Hongi" x M. greshakei (or similar zebra type Mbuna).Hope this helps,Andrew.
