dazzman
Hey Benno, good to hear mate.I had 2 males 4 females i grew up from yankes fry ages ago. They ended up my most prolific breeders and i ended up selling them off as 2 trios. Ill post some pics or a video when i have some more time. DFishkeeper
I'd like to see some photos too, to compare with a strain I have been keeping here in Queensland for a few years. Unfortunately, I'm an old fart and too busy playing with my fish to bother getting a decent camera and trying to take decent photos of fast moving malawis.Cheers, Doug
dazzman
I don't even own a camera so my pics have been taken with my phone sadly, not the clearest of pics, holding female.i'll try to find some pics of the males or fry later.

dazzman
I think that there are meant to be some collection point variations but i have never seen any location names attached to these. Nor have i seen any with a solid black band in the dorsal fin.

DFishkeeper
They are nice fish and very similar to the strain I have been keeping for quite a few years now, probably a little more black in the ventral and anal fins on your males than mine.In Ad Konings books, he describes two distinct populations of pindani in the lake. One with broad black bars in the dorsal, anal and ventral fins. And one without the black bars. I suspect the pindani we have in Australia are a bit of a mix of the two populations. I can't remember seeing any with the broad black bars in all fins for a very long time. I would love to get my hands on some of those if they are around.Cheers, Doug
