rosco
Hi all,I have never been able to get the lighting right for my 6x2x2. I have a doublet8 ATM but the problem is that I had to put it diagonally across the tank because the hood is such a tight fit? Any suggestions?CheersRosco
chuin
Rosco, is the hood made of wood? I had similar fitting issues with my hood and (thanks to the 'amazing renovator') cut out holes to suit. Thought about a 4ft fitting? I have a 4 ft led light around if you want to see how it looks and fits.
rosco
It is made of wood but the furniture cost me Motza so I am not that keen to cut it up. I have been seriously considering leds but I am concerned about how much light I will actually get. I did have 2 3' t5's but had a similar issue because they wouldn't fit end to end.Cheers
joey13
A T5HO 80w fitting is what you need. It's 5ft and perfect for your setup.
FullyYellow
Rosco get a normal 4ft light fitting. Mount it to the hood and attach some nice bright white lights from a lighting store. LEDs will be good but they are big money for a 6ft size. You might get away with a 4ft LED though.
