Kerrin
So due to algae issues I decided it was time get a Bn for the tang tank, and I've always wanted a peppermint. Have I made a mistake here? I just assumed that they would be as hardy/adaptable as a common Bn, is this true? I got the guy at my Lfs to test the tank water they came from and Ph was over 8 and Gh was 150ppm, I thought he would transition fine. He only went in today, what do you all think? Jason130497
Plecos generally like a lower ph and soft water they can live in there and theyll be fine but just keep an eye on him as the arent as hardy as the normal bnz
rosco
Peppermints can handle higher Ph but do prefer a lower Ph. I do know someone that has kept and bred them at both a high and low Ph. I have only kept them at a low Ph. Peppers are not really good algae waters bn are far better at munching algae
