Soo after much confusion I have been back to see the dude who sold me some fish and he told me the pair I have (plus 43 fry) are flamebacks.

Any way my husband bought me a lovely Aqua One Aquience 1500RT and we put the fish in three days ago. ( I would of been happy with something off gumtree but hey I am not complaining).

Yesterday we get home to find all the other fish huddled together up one end of the tank and the afore mentioned flamebacks getting busy making more babies up the other end. FFS! I only stripped her on the 21st of October.

Sooooo in the maternity tank I have about 60 fry all up including some yellows. Should I leave her in the main tank? Can I put her in with all the babies?

Grandmas goldfish are currently living in the AR980 to keep it cycling. What to do with all these babies....

You cycled the new tank before adding your fish?

Leave the female in the large tank any wait until she is about to spit and place her in a fry saver in the main tank.

When the fry get around 3 cms you can sell them through the Classifieds or get to know your local fish shops. They probably will not pay cash but should allow you to trade for goods.

I pulled all the bio balls out of the cannister on the AR980, put a few stockings of gravel in and 2 nitra zorbs in the new filters, checking for ammonia daily and doing water changes at any sign . So, I guess in a few weeks I can put the other babies in AR980 and the new babies in the 40 litre. After that maybe the male can live by himself for awhile in the 40 litre, or is that too cruel?

I saw an electric yellow with another one joined on its stomach upside down. The upside down one had passed though.
