mattrox
Most (all?) chlorine neutraliser is sodium thiosulfate. The only difference is the concentration they make it up to in the bottle. To see how effective it is, get 1mL of Iodine sore throat gargle in the cup, dilute it to the 20mL mark. Get a eye dropper or dropper pipette and see how many drops it takes to make it colourless. Or get 2 L of distilled water (supermarket) and dose with the recommended dechlorinator. See how many drops of iodine it tanks for the yellow/brown hue to remain in the water. Compare it to the brand you normally use.
SydneyMike
This is a great test! Thanks for the idea mattrox
mattrox
A nice back up test is to repeat the second test using tap water instead of distilled. It will let you know if you are taking all the chlorine/chloramines out.
