Nice looking fish, are you using cichlid salts in that tank? I assume if you are the geos can take the hard water?

Nope no salts or anything.

The Geo's seem to be going fine with a Ph of 7.7.

The 4 Frontosa that I have them with were raised in the same Ph, and are doing fine as well.

The black mark on the operculum is normal, as pat said they do show this sometimes, and they will also show a black throat area.

Colour is getting better, keep feeding high quality food and hope for the best.

Cheers Mark~

Thanks Mark.

What is purpose of the black mark and black throat?

I have been feeding them nothing but NLS and the colour's are slowly getting better.

Not sure of purpose, just something they show, similar to barring, sometimes they show it sometimes they don't, could be anything.

i got a pair of Orange Heads yesterday... the guy kept getting a phone call from the LFS wanting to buy them... but little did the LFS owner know i'd already put a deposit on them 6 months ago haha...

they are very close to spawning... and they settled in very nicely... it's just them in a tank by themselves.

nice, how big are they?

what are you feeding them?

The biggest is about 13cm and the smalllest of the 5 that I have is about 10cm.

The only thing I am feeding them is the 2mm NLS.
