Simonauv
With a glass safety factor of 3.8 the min. thickness is 8.4mm. 10mm sides even better. Don't skimp on the cost of the glass.
ctaylor
Warren what you want is Four 3x2x1.5 tanks... and a table to put them on... like this one 10mm bottom with 6mm glass will be fine, would recommend you build a bridge or at least a brace around the edge of the glass. Link2Hell
basic rule I was told is 18"high = 6 mm minimum sides and 6 or 10 mm base 24"high = 10 mm minimum sides and 10 mm base Chris
Barf
You could try this link in addition to the above advice http://www.nationalglass.com.au/catalogues..._Section_14.pdf
Simonauv
6mm is pushing it... you should read this and d/l the glass thickness calc. @ the bottom of the page. I've been using it for years: http://www.fnzas.org.nz/index.php?PG=glass1 I made a mistake with the dimensions when I first did above... based on 460mm (1.5ft) high and 900mm (3ft) wide it comes out at 7.85mm thick glass... so 8mm glass rounding up to the nearest mm. Putting 6mm into the above dimensions, using that glass thickness calc., gives you a reduced safety factor of 2.37 from 3.8. I would not be using 6mm unless I had glass of superior quality.
