In Australia, we have the problem of Noxious fish.

We are not alone.

The Americans, Brits, Canadians, Russians, and so on have it too

If I searched forums throughout the world it will appear everywhere.

Our borders are being invaded because of trains. planes and automoblies.

The world is getting smaller.

There is always people that mean well and are caring but they don't see the big picture.

They want to save their umbees/gamboozia/ eartheater/Nimbochromis/trimac/frog/ tilapia/oscar/ life and let them go in their local waterway.

I can understand the prevention methods attempted to be adopted by the authorites.

Lets try and get the word out to everybody to be careful in thier ways.

The biggest pest to the australian boarders has been the csiro they have release things like gambisia ,cane toads just to name a few things

My spin on things is that hobbiest in general dont release fish into the wilds we are responsible , cost of our fish , ect

However my concerns is the mun and dads out there that buy a goldfish for example get sick of it and flush it down the toilet or release it

these fish have no real value and that to me would be more of a threat

I have always wondered how some fish can be imported and some not as the ones like goldfish , guppies fighters are protentially more of a risk then the fish that arent allowed /smuggled

theres a great debate going on now with the grey list ect and this I feel will have a not so great outrcome on our hobby if things get passed in the future and also talk of introduction of licences ect

You are right about the world being a small place Down at taren point they have found about 20 Cane Toads in recent times which have travelled down with a furniture delivery They found 20 but god knows how many came down

Without making a polictical spin on this I kinda thought everyone would have understood that you would have got these types of law changes when we changed federal goverment to that side of politics

but maybe people arent that smart afterall
