japes
Deary me that is one inaccurate article. For starters, they've shown a photo of Andinoacara sp. "Gold Saum" (What people are referring to now as Andinoacara aequinoctalis) As fishkeepers have known for the past 40 years, it differs from the Green terror, Andinoacara rivulatus, in having a silvery white rather than an orange edge to the fins. The true Andinoacara rivulatus also has white lining on both the caudal and dorsal fins, it's the scale patterning that differentiates the species. Also, anyone who has bred Andinoacara sp. "Gold Saum" knows they will spawn fish with both white and gold seams. In the past, the Green terror, A. rivulatus, and the Gold Saum cichlid seen in the hobby have been considered potentially different species, with the Gold Saum being regarded as A. aequinoctalis by some experts They are very clearly too different species.
