justinalana
In the recent Sydney heat I lost 32 adult breeding multis. Devestated. I must say that initially finding them dead and the sight that presents is most upsetting. The missus gets emmotionally attached to our fish and she shed a tear or two... kasm
In summer I turn the air pump to the max to oxygenate the water and it does help.
Josh
If your tank was at 22-23 they didnt die from the heat.
dobbin4
Foti, can understand your pain Never good losing any fish,, but Josh is pulling your leg. Gee we get a but hot too fast on here at times.I never have my heaters on in summer. One tank my trophs are in i have on but turn down to 23/24dec. So easy to cook fish in summer and crook heaters do it mostly.2nd is lack of air/ airflow. justinalana, were they cooked by heat or heater. So many people lock up the house then 40dec with no air = cooked fish.Did you have a internal filter as well in your tank, plenty of air as said? Muitli's,, shellies or cats? Josh is right 22/23dec was more likley to kill them than extra heat. I would be going for 24 min for the shellies, more for breeding. In a house this time of year you may set your heater to 22/23 but what is the real temp at 2pm & 2 am.
