moonie
Hi does any one know where I can get the aquarium/pond safe expandable foam from? I have been searching everywhere for it but no one seems to have heard of it before. Its marketed as 'Great stuff pond and stone' or 'Savio black foam' in the state. Heres a couple of links. It looks like it would be fantastic for a DIY BG. http://www.savio.cc/pond-products/C37 http://greatstuff.dow.com/products/ps.htm Cheers

fryparty
i used it with my foam background i made. once it was coated with a fine cement and zinc oxide, i used a tile grout solution also found at bunnings near the zinc powder * cement bag area* youwash it over the foam multiple times to fill it with a gell to stop water entering. then wash down with salt water multiple times. if thats where you were heading. but yes i used it in my planted setup, sold off a while back
