edas
I agree, keep the bacteria alive in the filters. Just add the filters onto the 2fter, increase filtration and don't feed the fish. They should be fine in there until you can get something sorted today. how did the tank break? nick
mcloughlin2
Keep the filters going, but make sure that if they are used on the two foot the flow rate isn't ridiculous. I had the same thing happen years ago. Tank broke, 10 6-8cm frontosa put in a two foot tank with the same water from the big tank, cannister was put on the two foot and I woke up the next morning and they were all dead. I'd nt secured the outlet on the filter so it had fell below the water line, hence they had no aeration in the tank and suffocated. So the most important thing is AERATION, closely followed by ensuring the ammonia levels don't go to high.
nbw
hey thanks everyone for the input problem has been solved for now as i have a new 6x2 cycling as we speak with a sump and a fx5 and the fish seem to be doing ok in the 2 footer. there is plenty of air and ammonia levels are relatively low. thanks again to everyone, really appreciate it nath
Josh
How big are the fronies? I really wouldnt be bothered leaving them in the small tank if they are smaller fish. Josh
