faithtiger1821
Hi, my tank has what looks like small white mites. They are on the filter, driftwood in the rocks and side of the tank. They remind me of dust mites but with a tourch you can see them jumping around on the driftwood. There is a breeding pair of angels and a catfish in the tank. What should I do compleatly clean the tank out or try a chemical do they harm the fish. Thankyou
mcloughlin2
I havn't heard of anything like this before - I've seen white mites that jump on things above the water line before but never mites that live in the water. Do you have any pictures?
robfishfan
vacume the hole tank or move fish to another tank and rince them with tank water before putting them in new tank , empty all water and clean all filers right out , start over again , these guys never go away. They are too small to get a photo of. I just found the angel fry I thought they had eaten they are a new breeding pair. I have two wool and carbon corner filters and they have put they fry in one I turned it off and tryed to see if i could move them but the adults kept puting them back in the wool. Would a 30% water change every two days be fine until they fry are a little bigger.
robfishfan
so far i have not seen them harm any thing , but they just keep on multiplying and multiplying , try and raise this batch of fry , then strip tank start over. dont mix that water with other tanks , treat as quarantine .
