Priscacara
Cant help much with locations unfortunately but I got 2 different types of rock for my 4 footer from 2 different shops. One type is basalt covered in a thick limestone coating , very heavy and cost $10 a kilo, the other type is almost all limestone/calcium coated mix of what I guess is from an old reef or coastal zone as it is corals, few shells etc all cemented together by the limestone it is fairly light compared to the other stuff and also a lot cheaper at $5 a kilo. I have a shell grit base which was $10 a kilo at both shops I think. I've seen some nice pics of rounded river pebbles that were greys and browns in peoples pics and they look awesome too but the shops here didnt have any. Possibly a gardening/landscaping supplier would have some at a reasonable cost, not sure on cleaning or contaminants though.
Schminkie
I've just set up a small tank with some texas holey rock - it's a lovely white colour. I have seen it on eBay but I wouldn't pay the shipping from texas to Australia (too pricey). You could try Living Rock in Canterbury, I think I got it from there. Price-wise though, it's around $10-$15 a kilo.
