Yogie
Hi All, I have a small AquaOne 320 tank that i've just started as a planted tank with a pair of rams and other various fish. I just was just wondering if anyone knows where i can get a stronger light that is a direct fit for the standard hood. The current light is 11w and is fine for low light plants but i was wanting to get something a bit stronger so i can put a few more plants in... Anyone know where i could get maybe a 15w light from? I've looked in some aquarium stores with no luck (could only find the standard 11w). Thanks, Johann

Thanks, Johann Hi Johann Your out of luck really...as you cant put a 15 W tube into an 11 W fitting and expect to get 15 watts out of it...it probably wouldnt even work You can get retro fit kits to replace the light, reflectors and ballast from the US but I have seen people do DIY refits , it means gutting the existing hood and replacing basically all the parts...Im sure if you Googled it there would be a description somewhere but your likely to run into trouble given its playing with electricity. Thge only other option would be to replace the hood completely with a new higher output light fitting but then I think the hood also has the filter on the Aquaone models? Yogie
thanks for the reply (btw the peppermint is doing great, thanks heaps) i was really hoping i could get more light in there. i was thinking about modifying the hood but i don't think it would end up too good, i don't like playing around with electricity
