likadeefeesh
Hello all! Is it just me or does anyone else find this forum confusing? So many posts dating back to 2005 and stuff? The reason I say this is because I'm not sure if anyone will see this! I know you're there people, I just can't see you!!! Anyway, off topic. I have a question for you guys... I've got 2 Red Fin Kadango's, 1 just over 1 inch and the other just over 2 inches. As yet neither of them has changed colour. I was wondering at what age/size these fish get their color? Also the same question for C. Afra Cobwe... 1 at 1 inch the other at almost 2. I will also note, I've got a dominant Blue Cobalt in the tank ( M. Callainos) do you think that would effect them? Cheers!
mcloughlin2
Sometimes old threads are bought up from a few years back. It is ordered apart from when that happens. In my experiance most cichlids start to colour @ 6cm. Kadangas won't show nice colours to 4" (10cm), while afras generally colour up smaller @ 5cm. It really depends on how well they are looked after, what sex they are and if they are being bullied. Providing your tank is big enough some bullying won't hurt but if they are constantly harrassed it will do them no good.
prosavage
it also depends on what sort of food you give to your fish diced raw prawn (or whole if your cichild is big enough to swallow one ) is very good as it contains natural colour enhancer
