scott_to4
ok i have a spare 2ft tank id ike to setup inside, could i keep shellies? if so what sort? thanks in advance. also would be good to keep to a variant that will 'step breed' allow fry to be raised and grow in tank while the adults will breed again. custardcrouton
Multi's are nice and generally cheaper/easier to obtain. Brevis have the reputation of family care of broods (previous broods help defend the territory of the latest brood), but can be intolerant of other species in confined spaces. Brichardi are similar, but even more pugnacious.
rosco
variant that will 'step breed' allow fry to be raised and grow in tank while the adults will breed again. If this is criteria gold occies are probably out unless you are lucky. My WC's kill all the fry before they breed again. You best option is a Julie like a little gombe or maybe N Cylindricus (well mine have successfully step bred in 2x18x18, somuch so I have 4 tanks full of fry ATM). However, they will stop breeding if the population gets to high so they do need to be moved on at some stage. cheers rosco
