shrimp?

Hey all :thumb . Just wanted to know if anyone knows if blue and cherry shrimp would be ok in a cich tank, if they had enough cover to hide in or would they be constantly hassled by the fish when coming out to feed? I realize I would probably have to give them a protected ride to the bottom of the tank when I put them in :p . Any help would be great. Just wanted a few crustaceans for the set up I'm creating.

Haha, I dropped in a bag of glass shrimp for my cichlids last night ... lasted about 2 minutes for 20-30 shrimp to be toast :) Those that managed to escape the initial feeding frenzy were hunted down ruthlessly, was rather fun to watch... and this is with young cichlids, nothing bigger than 3" ..

I wouldn't put any shrimp of value in unless you like expensive meals for your fish :p

With Certain Dwarf cichlids they would be ok such as Blue Rams and Bolivians, you would need alot of cover though. I have a small colony of 20-30 glass shrimp in a 60 litre tank with Blue Rams and they are largely ignored and even manage to slowly breed. My blue rams are only around 3cm at the moment,

When I fed the shrimp to my cichlid tank I also fed some to my community tank... The bolivian rams in there, while puzzled at first by what these little fast moving things were, quickly worked out that they were in fact food.. Don't put shrimp in with bolivians as they WILL eat them if they can catch them :)
