Finn
Hi All New on here but not that new to the cichlid scene - the tanks are just getting bigger! Started with 1 3ft tank in December 2007 and now have the original tank, a Aqua One 980, a 6ft plus 2 fry tanks and a holding tank! Now on to the reason for my post - we got a Tropheops Chitimba Bay Gold (our only tropheops) last year and have been searching for more - anyone have any ideas on where in NSW we could get hold of more. Any direction would be great - am finding that most people I talk to tell me there is no such fish but I have one to prove it! Frustrating. Look forward to your responses. Take care Angela

Finn
Photo to come for sure! Got to load it when I get home so will load it up tonight. He looks like the one listed on here - http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/species.php?id=948 - he does not have a lot of blue yet though. Neil
Hi Angela I breed them for awhile and sold the last of them a few months ago . There is also tropheops Chitande ,Chilumba ,Chitimba all very different, but easily confused so try to keep locations true when breeding Neil
Finn
Thanks Neil We have seen the Chilumba's and they are quiet different and I dont really want them so I want to try get the Chitimba Bay Gold - he is a good little fish so we want more. Got him through a shop here in Campbelltown and he has been a great little addition.

Finn
Awesome news about where to get them. We are going to be at the auction so will definately keep an eye out for them. Registered on Tropheops Fanatics and had a guy give me some more info - they are also called Yellow Chins http://www.african-cichlid.com/Tropheops.htm
Finn
Nothing came up at the auction on Saturday but after my hubby talking to Neil (thanks Neil) we went for a drive yesterday out to Majestic Aquariums to see what they had. Very hard to work out what they had cause all the labelling was so messed up but we think we found them. Unfortunately they were all boys so will keep looking. So got to organise to go look at them some time this week and if the are WOO HOO!!
Finn
After finally finding some - we got 4 females on Wednesday night, come home Thursday night to find the largest not doing very well, descaled and pretty poorly. We took her out and put her in the quarantine tank and tonight she is on the bottom of the tank not doing well at all so looks like we are losing her We still have 3 females and they seem to be doing ok so fingers crossed all stays well. Finn
We have found 2 possibly 3 females with gob fulls!! So fingers crossed we get some fry!
Finn
Well after much debate we decide our so called male is actually a female - and currently has a gobful! We lost one female and now have 4 females (1 a little worse for wares) and 1 male. Moved the fish around into their own tank and put one female in a tank on her own as she had a gobful and last night we have fry!!! Sooooo haaappppyyy! Got 2 other females holding as well now so will see how we go. So on the fry front we have: Juvie Flavus already colouring up and just about ready to be sold Juvie Afra Cobwe just about ready to be sold Fry Flavus Fry Afra Cobwe Fry Maingano - only 3 left as we found them when cleaning the big tank had no idea she was holding! Fry Kribensis Fry Rainbow Cichlid Fry Chitimba Bay Gold Got to sort out the house to move the tanks back inside as the shed is getting a little too cold for the fish!
