Hi there,

Not the best timing no but you shouldn't have a problem shifting them with your method (no need to use a big hose the smaller the hose the slower it will be but the smaller the headache the fish will have when they hit the bucket). Be sure to fill the bucket with some water first before sucking up any fry so that they are hitting water not plastic. Add an air stone or sponge filter and they will be fine. For the parents transport them in a separate bucket about 1/3 full. Again air stone or sponge filter in with them while you are shifting the tank.

Leave it as long as you can and I wouldn't be putting the fry back in with the parents once you have moved. I would set them up in a smaller tank with a sponge filter.

Leave the hoses on you canister block them off and transport it to the new house full. You will experience bacteria die off but it wont be to bad if you do it this way.

Don't bucket all you water to the new house. When you can get into the new house fill some buckets with fresh water and let the water age for a few days. If time is short move the tank and fill it to between 30% and 50% with fresh water then add water conditioner then fill the rest of the tank with your old water. Set up your filter (all this time the fish should be in buckets with lids to stop them jumping out and either sponge filters or air stones running) then start to introduce the fish as if the where in bags (use airline and siphon water from the newly set up tank into the buckets). Once the bucket is about 2/3 full move the fish into the tank with a net. Clean the sponge filter in the water in the bucket. Move the sponge filter to the tank and discard the water.

Add some Stress Coat or something to help with the stress of the move and keep the lights off until the next day.

Good luck with the move and I hope that helps.

Cheers

Ben
