t0h0t4u
hi I have 1 male, one female and 1 undecided Cynotoplia. Afra cobue. I would like to buy few Cynotoplia. Afra White Top and breed them too but was wondering if I put them in the same tank is it likely they will cross breed? is this really a bad thing if it does happen? or is like peacocks where you should keep only one type of that breed? so you don't get poor mixed fish? any advice would be great.. ant265
They most definately will crossbreed as with most malawians. I think its a bad thing and should be avoided UNLESS you wanna specifically keep a few for yourself and cull the unwanted ones IMO.
rosco
Please DON'T put them in the same tank they will cross. We are losing species all the time to hobby and we don't want to lose any more. You can keep fish like Yellows, mainganos and demasoni with afra's quite successfully without risking cross breeding. cheers rosco

I guess it’s either one or the other or maybe just more tanks lol
