jpa
hi all, i have a 6 x2 x 2 with mini reef system running on ocean runner 6500 LPH. my Submersible Pump Filter just broke down and tried everything to make it work again but no luck. just wondering how long / hours would it be ok for all my fish to survive without a filter? and how much would a brand new pump cost in LFS? at the moment i have two air stones and i have at least 45 cichlids in the tank. any advice / help would be appreciated. Cheers, Paul
CThompson
My advice would be to get off the internet and get out to a LFS and buy another pump. Oceanrunners are VERY good pumps so buy the same brand and size again and try and get it fixed at a later date for a spare. Take the broken pump to the shope they may be qualified to fix it. Put an air stone with your biological media as if the bacteria die you'll be back to cycling the tank once you get a pump again. If there are bioballs set up as a trickle sitution make sure they stay damp.
