Bedge
Our tank has gone nuts! Here is what we have: 4 peacocks 4 cobalt blues 4 red empress 4 electric yellows We got them all about a month ago, all as bubbas. Still trying to determine what male to female ratios we have. From what my un-educated eyes can tell - we have one male electric yellow! haha So just tonight - one our of large Cobalts has gone metal! Its like someone has pushed his fast forward button. He is chasing another Cobalt and zipping around the tank like a loon and I even saw him do a kinda of shiver. From what I have read - does this mean he has reached sexual maturity? Is he putting it on for the ladies in the tank (if there are any!), or has he just decided he is going to rule the tank? Two of the empress's have also gone nuts, chasing each other at light speed. The poor little yellows seem a bit confused and are just hanging around the bottom doing there own thing. Cleaning cleaning cleaning, always cleaning? So what might we be witnessing in our tank? Just as a recap - this is our first community tank so this is all new on our eyes. We are keen to gain a bit of knowledge on what we are seeing. petshopdude
sounds like a bit of fun is going on in your tank mate, just keep an eye on the females, some times the males can get a bit carried away, but put a nice smooth rock away from the others there might be a bit of loving, these guys carry eggs in there mouth so if the female is not eating and has a swallon mouth like she has food in it, bingo
