Would you risk it?

I've recently moved and am yet to setup my tank again (my fish are in plastic tubs with canisters attached).

Was applying my background tonight, and noticed there are chips in the bottom plate of glass! I'm guessing I probably shouldn't be risking it, right? What do you guys think?

See the chips on the left and right of this photo. This is the left side of the tank...

And this is the right of the tank, see the two chips in the middle of the photo...

The tank is a 4ft(w) x 20"(h) x 18"(d) and has scratches all over it. I have no idea how old it is as I got it off a mate. I had it setup for 12 months at my old place with no problems, but can't remember if the tank was chipped or not.

I'm thinking I have the following options;

* Risk it (errrr ... :shock: ) OR,

* Sell the tank cheaply to someone who can fix it and use it for grow out etc

If it's definitely stuffed, what would I be looking at to replace this tank ($$$)? I have a nice solid cabinet and hood in this size so I'd want the same size tank. Perhaps I could sell the cabinet and hood cheap, give away the tank free with it, and just upgrade to a 6ftr?

...Help??...

I had a 4ftx18x18 with chips like that around the bottom edge and it ran for years without a problem. I personally think that the chips are not where it will affect the integrity of the tank, but if you could afford a 6fter, i say why not go for it :lol1::thumbup:
