CordlezToaster
I got my self an api water test kit form the local aquarium today and tested the ph of my tank water and it gave me a reading of around 7.8-7.4. I also decided to test my tap water and it gave me the same result! Does this mean it would be better for me to get African cichlids rather than south american?, from general reading it seems difficult to get a lower ph level and keep it stable which rules out south americans i think. Though some sites suggested using white vinigar to lower ph level, how fesable is this? Would it still be worth while getting limestone/white rock in the tank to help boost ph for africans, general reading seems to show that africans like high 7's and 8's for ph. Bedge
We use Ph Plus ... it does the job. If your up around 7.8 your doing well. We keep ours at about 7.9 for our Malawis.
