Bedge
We are really enjoying our new community tank. We started off with four peacocks to help cycle it ... and they are such funny little things! We have two marbled, one black one and another powder blue one. With the addition of the cobalt's, yellows and red empress the black peacock is quite sure it is his tank. He hangs out in the open water up the top and keeps everyone in line. The red empress's strictly keep together and do their own thing, the cobalt's seem to play a lot, the yellows seem generally quite busy with things to do and people to see, the two marbled peacocks are so social and hang out with everyone, and then there is the powder blue peacock who thinks he/she is a cobalt. Was wondering how everyone else's tank works out?
mezzacam
Rainbows hide at the top. Apistos hide at the bottom. Bristlenose goes about his duties. They never talk or play or share stories of camp fires and marshmellows. But they look awesome. :D And who rules the tank? I DO!!!~!! MUWHAHAHAHAHA ()
D6C1
My jardini and Grey Giant gourami are like buddies. They swim together, but fight for food. My Clown loaches play with each other are always dancing around or play dead. My plecos mind their own business! Thats all.. The rest mind their business
batche81
I have a mixed African male display tank (mbuna's and peacocks). All the fish swim around happily and get along fine except for my big Polit. He has made a den under some rocks and nobody can go near it. Also my cuckoo catfish try and swim up the filter outlet and look like there on a treadmill.
oz_gooner
We have Saulosi, Maingano and Demasoni in a 3' tank. They seem to get on ok (at the moment). We also have our originals in a 4' - 1 Yellow, 1 Blue and 1 Jewel. These are the guys who are grumpy at the moment. I've got to get my 6' up and running to give everyone some exrta space. Bedge
Also my cuckoo catfish try and swim up the filter outlet and look like there on a treadmill. hahaha! A hoot. My baby Empress's haven't quite figured out what is actually going on at the filter outlet ... they know they like it there, but why ... they aren't sure. ant265
When i had a Lab. Hongi colony or Tropheops Chilumba colony with my M. Red Top Black Bar zebras the dom male was like batche81's Polit, had a den which was the best spot right in the middle of the tank and guarded about a foot either side by chasing fish that came near and also picking up substrate and chasing them then spitting it at them to mark his territory. Angry fish but never did any real damage as i had the aggression spread out but it was great to watch. Alot of the time some would swim against the current of the sump return (good fun and good exercise )
likadeefeesh
Four Blue Cobalts, one bigger male is the king of everything and even me he thinks. The other 3 females are constantly kept in line and play alot! The male's been busy dancing with the ladies and making nests, I lost the first batch of kiddies because I moved the female into a fry saver (which was probably too small) and she did not like it at all. Came out next morning and she was back in the main tank and very very willing to eat. 2 x Red fin Kadangos busy with their reflections, clearly too sexy for their shirts. 6 Yellows, always busy! 2 x Afra Cobue - just starting to show colour changes, one recently claimed a little cave of his own! Good fun to watch. Active but keeping to themselves. ...I have a sailfin that I felt was a bit too small to be in with the cich's so he's in a nice big tank getting fed up.
