Hiblow HP 40

hi

A question for ppl who uses air driven filters or have used diff air pump brands. I currently use Resun LP40 (50l/min, 35watts, 0.028Mpa) to drive 6 airstones in 4x2x18 (with middle drop), 3 in 4x2x18 (with sidedrop), 2 in 2x14x14 (fry tank). Thinking of purchasing a second hand Hiblow HP 40, 2yrs old (seller said very little use). I believe they are rated at 40l/min, 38watts, 12.8kPa. Will need to attach another 4 more airstones for another 2 fry tanks in the future.

1. If i was to use this and keep my resun as spare, will the air pump handle my load (even though the rate is lower)?

2. How do you test a second hand air pump? Do i just turn it on and if it blows then it works or do i need to attach something to it before turning it on?

THank you for your help.

Cheers

Eric

Buy the Hi-blow.

I had a resun and the an atman both where rated higher then the hi-blow and the hi-blow out classed them both.

I was running 12 tanks with two air stones in the side drop filters and the extra air stones in each tank and I had no problems with flow.

A two year old hi-blow still isn't run in in my opinion.
