Breeding

Hi,

I have just started breeding various types of cichlids. I am beginning to panic as can see that it's sometimes not that easy to sell of the fry. Do other people find this a problem? Has anyone any tips? Have advertised in classifieds on this forum and another website but no luck so far from either.

Cheers,

Tootie

Its a supply and demand thing Tootie.

If people arent buying your fry then you might be asking too much? or theres just no demand for them at the moment

Many LFS will also buy fry for a few dollars or for store credit...

You wont become rich breeding fish....just do it for the fun of it.... :)

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the feedback, I presumed I would never get rich selling fish. So yes I'm doing it for fun however I get a bit worried that I'm going to end up with heaps of fish and no where to put them. If I get any more tanks I think my relationship will be over!

Cheers,

Tootie

Or let nature take its course, let the mum spit in the tank and have the strong survive. Plus you get a few free feeds for other fish.

What do you have for sale anyways. I have a 3ft that i need to restock. All occupants died today :(

I'm sorry to hear about your fish dying. I have electric yellow fry approx 3-5cms for sale. 1 Red Kadango (Male) approx 14cms and I electric blue male (approx 15cms) - beautiful colours and only getting rid of them to make more tank space. If you're interested please let me know.

Cheers,

Tootie.

To be honest, never done the auctions so have to get organised and join the cichlid society and then take it from there. How do kadangos and electric blues sell? Good luck with the firemouth tank.
