maw
Hi Guys, LFS had some julies labled this way...looked like normal regani's...not yellow like Kipili. Is there such a variant? Rgds, Mike

Richard
Hey mate, Have never seen any julies from this locality. There seems to be some Tropheus Malagarasi, but nothing along the lines of Julidochromis regani ... Cheers, Richard
Ged
There is a Julidochromis regani Malagarasi though I have not seen them here in Australia. Julidochromis are on the live import list so it is possible that they could be brought into the country. The difference appears to be that the stripes are not as dark as other locations. Richard
Where did you find out this information Ged? Would love to see what they look like, seems they are quite the phantoms on the internet. Cheers, Richard.

I went old fashioned and read it in a book. The Back to Nature Guide to Tanganyika Cichlids has a photo of them.
maw
Thanks for the replies guys - I've search the net and no luck. The LFS @ BirkenHead point in Sydney has quite a number and I quite confident now that they have not mislabelled them. I will not be keeping them with other regani's based on your feedback. I swapped out some of my fish for 4 julies, two largest and two smalled - hopefully get a pair at least. Do you think I should obtain another two more just in case?
