MVP
The person that previously owned my system cut holes in the pvc pipe then put in control valves and siliconed around the valves.

Barrie
I use those little black joiners for drip irragation that are threaded both ends. Drill a hole into your PVC pipe smaller than the thread on the joiner. Just big enough to let the shaft of the joiner in minus the thread if that makes sense. Then screw them in with the correct size socket. Be very careful not to strip the thread when it is nearly tight, just use fingers to tighten them the last bit. I did this with my air system in the fishroom. It is powered by an air blower and I cant detect any leaks. No silcone or sealant was used on any of the joints. I would try the process on a spare piece of PVC first so you know exactly how much to tighten them up without over tightening and ruining the joint. Forgot to add that your airline tubing then pushes neatly onto the other end of the threaded joiner.
Josh
I did the same as Barrie, but I used barbed and threaded joiners and cut a thread into the PVC used a tap set. Josh
