C_H Posted September 19, 2008 Share Posted September 19, 2008 Hey i own a breeding pair of these they are great fish (my first African cichlids) i also had this problem when i was more inexperienced especially when the male rusties show their breeding colors they get the bars on their head like a hongi but the top fin of a hongi is alot brighter than the rusties that's how i used to tell the difference.
