Chijus11
Hi all!! , Was just curious as to what weight a standard room with floorboards can hold. I am intending to have a 5' x 2' x 2' tank full in the corner , placed on cabinet with a pine hood. I would appreciate any information, even just an approximation would help me. Thanks in advance... Aquaholic
thats a big tank. I think you would be looking at 600kg +.The floor would hold it but If you are concerned you could put a board under the stand (hopefully opposite to the way the floor boards are running) might help even out the weight. omniphile
I would not even think about arguing with Aquaholic, but all I know is each litre of water weighs one kilogram. Add to that an estimate of the weight of the tank itself, the substrate, the attached paraphenalia and the stand, and you'll be very close to the gross weight. Cheers

Cheers Thanks for the feedback guys, now to check with building planner if the floor will support that much weight
