Surtac
HI, I heard today that phenol can leach from poly & pvc piping into water where it can become toxic to fish. I was wondering if anyone had heard of this or has any thoughts on wether it could be harmful to our fish. Many of us use poly tubs & pipes in our systems without knowing the chemicals involved in their manufacture. How safe are they. Wayne
oakes
hi, i have no idea whether such a thing is actually possible, but have to say i would be very surprised, given that phenol is highly toxic to humans as well as fish, and polymer pipes such as pvc are used worldwide for the collection and transfer of drinking water.
