wish-ga
Do a phone around to hardware in your area and ask about egg crate and the standard sizes so you can measure up. Also run it past them about marine safe paints. Personally, I like black backgrounds for my tanks. *bump*........anyone else more knowledgeable about paint types? Josh
Any paint will do. I paint mine on the outside of the tank and have used everything from $2 spray packs to house paint. I have had both black and blue tanks. Blue is better and a lighter shade makes my fish look better Black can make it hard to see darker color fish Josh
cichzorro
Use oil based paint, and paint outside background of tank.Remember the colour you choose will be two shades lighter when viewed from the inside of the tank when it has water.I use an oil based paint called dolphin blue.I find it perfect. dempsey
Yep, dont use acylic paint. water can get between it and the glass. Nearly all my tanks are painted in some way or another. Black is brilliant with white substrate, terracotta looks good with a green-planted effect with driftwood and such. Blue- Goes great with the Moba, and and black gravel base. you really just have to keep in mind whats going into them, for me paintings the way to go. Karl.
