glo
A while ago I noticed some baby fish in my sump. Presumed they were endlers guppies as i have these everywhere, so i ignored them. even still i couldn't work out how they got past all the filter wool, jap matting, scoria, bio balls and matrix to get into the sump. anyhow, looked at them 2 nights ago and i found them to be 2 m. praecox. i put them in with the parents and they seem to be eating and doing well (they are about 1.5cm - 2cm). i have been adding all my new water into the sump and usually use water straight out of the water tank, so it is a fair bit colder than the tank water, yet these 2 babies have survived! pretty stoked! novafishy
nice find! i am also intrigued and astonished as to how small fry can get through the maze and gauntlet of media and find their way to the end and somehow still manage to live for months unfed. Willy Wombat
Very nice find. Maybe they got into the sump as fertilised eggs? Must be some good microflora in there for them to eat?
