hey, it looks like one of my maingano 'might' be holding a mouthful. Albeit very small so its hard to tell. when i feed them she still eats but not much and doesnt attack the food like the rest.

So normally would a holding female eat??????????

Hi,

Some females will eat when holding, but usually towards the end of their term when the fry are getting more developed. Tropheus seem to do it more than most and the jury is still out on whether they are 'eating' for themselves or for their fry.

I haven't noticed mainganos being big eaters when holding, but it does happen.

Cheers,

Lee.
