RRP for the new 40D (body only) is $1999.00

The 30D (body only) can be picked up for $1399.00

$600 difference could influence a lot of people's decision :dntknw:

No one pays RRP. I'm getting mine for $1800

Hi Lepperfish,

No one pays RRP. I'm getting mine for $1800

Yeah, but I couldn't find any advertised discount prices - too soon after the release for most discounters to get their act together.

It seems that the people who offer the biggest discounts import direct, they don't go through Canon Australia. So people like Discount Digital Photographics might not have the 40D for a while.

Can I ask where you're getting your 40D and what delivery you've been quoted?

Cheers,

Lee.

budi is your mantis shrimp out in the open or does he hide.also budi when you take photos of your mantis shrimp do you use your flash on top of the tank.if so does it scare him off when it goes off.one more thing and anyone can answer this when you take a macro shot do you see what you see in the picture or do you see the the subject under normal circumstances and then once youve taken the shot do you view it in macro

he hides all the time. i put him in a small tank when i take pic so nowhere to run :roll

yeah sometimes the flash scares the mantis off.

with macro lens you see what you see in the pic (viewfinder). same as in your non SLR digital camera when you take a mcro shot

excellent choice Budi, nice bit of gear, all the wizbang bells and whistles i'll ever need.

but i do still like to give the old 35mm gear a work out

5D would be better.... oh well next upgrade. maybe 6D will be out by then.
