Thanks for your reply.

The problem i have is that i have an Mpanga, but i don't know whether it's a female or a sub-dominant male. It is about 7cm. long and i thought its colours would be out by now.

Thanks again,

KimO.

7cm - male would have coloured up. with strong bars thru the body if its one of the more dominant fish in the tank. and my male has stronger colours thru the fins.. the male i have colours up nearly all the time since its one of the bigger fish in the tank

if not post a pic up and im sure alot of people can sex it for ya.

For that reason i think it's a she.

I'll post some pics and we'll find out for sure.

On a side note, do you think that if i add a male and a few more females that the new male may not get along with my male Red Top Zebra i already have in there.

I do have lots of rockwork but its only a 200 ltr. tank.

Thanks again for your help.

if you got some decor so they arent always looking at eachother.. should be ok.. just watch them abit since i know my redtop zebra can be quite agressive to other guys before. i had another zebra which balance it out.. only them two would fight eachother..

there is always a hierarchy in a tank.. chain of command. but the more stocked the tank.. the less agression i have found in my tanks.

Thanks again for the reply.

Very good info. I like the idea of heavily stocked tanks. The colour display is awesome. Just have to convince my wife.

By the way, i like your new Arawana avatar. Good job.
