Fallax
Hi all, Does anyone know if there is a Flocculant (Something that coagulates little suspended particles into bigger particles that sink) that is safe to use in an aquarium? Dusty Miller
Hi Adam, I have used an Aqua master product called Magic clear it binds suspended particals together and clears cloudy water in aquariums and ponds and it worked well for me. Barca888
I think geoliquid does it too.
Ash
another vote for "Magic Clear", works really well. Of course if you are worried about it just use a stack of filter wool in your filters & wait longer.
huzzy
Do seachem make one? I vaguely recall seeing something at a LFS? I have a blind faith in all Seachem stuff.
Fallax
Fantastic thanks guys. At least I have something to look for now. Adding new sand (even washed) has a horrible effect on a tank.
motorman
Seachem make Clarity I have found it works better IMO then Magic Clear Brad
Out of Africa
I second the Seachem product. I used sand in my planted tank and it was a haze for days so I used a 3/4 dose and changed the wool in my Aquaclear 500 about 5-6 times that day and at the end of the arvo it was like a mountain spring!!!! Get the Clarity!
Fallax
Off to the LFS this afternoon. I will test the Clarity since I use Seachem everything else first. Cheers for the advice all. Adam
E4G13M4N
IMO Geoliquid is the safest Any of the chemical varieties work as long as there is something to take out of the water, as it works by chemical reaction, if there is nothing to remove it can remove body slime from fish leaving them open to infection. If you have suspended particles it will be ok, however i know a few people trying to clear their water (Tannins ) and it has killed all the fish instead.
