Ideas for filtration...

Hi all,

I'm after a bit of ideas on how to filter a couple of series of tanks im going to have. I'm intending on having 4 x "52in x 20 x 20" tanks on a stand which has 1 on top of the other and then have them side by side. like below:

l2l l4l

l1l l3l

Not a spectacular drawing but i think you can get the picture... The numbers would be the front panels. I'm also going to have 2 lots of 4 x "48x14x18". It will be the same as the other diagram expect the numbers would be the side panels so the tanks are back to back rather then side by side.

So heres my dilema should i link these all together and run them on a sump? 6 of the 8 48 inch tanks already have holes in the side where i can run pipes but two of them don't so that would prove a problem. The other option is i could run them each on their own or run them in pairs on canister filters the problem with that as i have found with two 6ft tanks i have on top of each other can be a pain to start the filter and im not too sure how effective it is either.

I do have a mini reef i can use on one of these three setups but i would think i should somehow hook it up to the 1st setup considering it contains the most litreage...

Basically i can set up anything as i havent got a stand already and will be building one from scratch so i can make sure i allow for piping etc etc... the second two setups will be for mainly breeding and im not sure what im going to do with the first i may just keep fry in there when they get too big for other tanks i have or whether i will breed in them.

So i was hoping i could get some ideas and possible issues i am going to have to keep in mind from the wealth of experience around here :)
