KIMO
Noticed this morning that one of my E.Yellows has long white stringy poo. It is also a bit more reclusive than normal. It is still eating with a bit of spitting out going on. Please advise what to do next. All other fish are OK at the moment. Thanks in advance, KimO
parrdog
It unfortunately sounds like your fish has the disease called Bloat. I have successfully treated this disease using a medication bath. I used 10 litres of water, a 200mg tablet of Metronidazole and half a teaspoon of Furan 2 powder. The bath was heavily aerated and I gave the fish a one hour bath a day until symptoms disappeared. During the time that I was treating the fish (there were 3 of them), I had them living in a hospital tank to keep them away from the rest of the colony. Also, it was easy to catch them and place them in their daily baths. The Metro was purchased from a local Vet. Furan 2 is hard to get. Pm me if you want to know where I got mine. Good luck, Jamie. KIMO
Thanks for your valuable advise. I visited my LFS (Aquariums@Asquith) and they provided me with a very "tank friendly" internal parasite and worming medication to blanket treat the whole tank. i'll use this and wait the recommended 4 days. If i have no success i'll then try this method as it is also what LFS suggested. Thanks again, KimO.

KIMO
Update.... No more white stringy poo!!! hooray!!! However she(i think) is still not eating much and is still reclusive, and NO she isn't holding. Perhaps she is being stressed by my slightly larger male e.yellow. Should i get myself more females? Any ideas?????
